Hey thanks for putting all of your previous how-to's together.

I've always wanted to model some inter-urban overhead. I always balked because of the meager supply of cheap, yet exquisitly detailed streetcars.

Now you gave me some ideas.

Here is Chapter 2.

Most of the track is in on the right of the bench work.
Main Station has to be finished yet before we continue onto the other side.

I will finish all track work before the over head is worked on, as we have to think of the easy way of bringing it all together.

Chris: you need to take care where you cross the big railway -- with poles they installed a metal net trough over the wire to catch a dewirement and get the trolley car out of the way. Don't know about pantographs -- maybe double or triple wire?
Saw a photo last weekend of the Dearborn Street Railway (Mich.) crossing a steam railway. Double track reduced to single, spring switches on each side, and the overhead was two wires across -- no frogs. Couldn't make out any trolley pole catchers.

Had a few hours to compleat the two main lines and plant a few poles.
So here we go

First three pictures show the over head being put in on a back streach.
This was going to be in a tunnel, but I am going to make a culvat at the back for the run this allows me to have a lower town maybe 2 " higher than the base for the town development, instead of 4 ".

Fist shot is now going to house the Interurban barn, in the high town.

the other shots are of the main station.
Inside tracks are overhead outside for steam/ diesel operation.
That`s it for now.

Did a bit of work this week and put the track in where my interurban dead end station will go.
These are the easy switch throws I make so I don`t put my big hand under the
wire to throw them.
I am not to fond of electric throws when I can reach the switch.

Chris - what are the bits ,parallel to the track, just trackside of the operating handles?? They look like a couple of removed ties (sleepers?)

Hi Jack, They are cedar strips from an old wood kit I had knocking around.

The keep the throw wire in the grove I cut out with the dremal tool.
Also they give it a finnished look..

Drill pilot holes first and use rail spikes and there you go

Hi Folks, I managed to get some more Plans into actual bench progress, that thing called work gets in the way.

Still putting the skeleton together, and I HAVE almost finished the whole track plan , overhead is another job to do.

I hope to have the traction poles and overhead up in this hick town section before it`s screwed into place.

Still a lot of work to do before the tracks are operational.

That`s when I can get in there with the scenery stuff.

It has been a while since I posted here, that`s cause its been a while since I got anything done.

I have started on the overhead in the freight yard, and hope to get that done, I am in between three two day shows with the traction in action L/O, two still to go.
Hoping to get at it again soon.
