With those qualifications man stick an ad in the paper and work for yourself. Hell you're a rare breed, Electrician, networks and PHP internet you have to succeed. People still like "little" firms. Best of luck mate. Barry PS don't even think about an office |

Barry, thanks for that
I hope prospective employers see it that way!I've taken this topic off the front page as you guys don't need to see it every day. I don't want to give up the site and believe me I'm doing all I can to land a job no matter what. 16 resumes went out today and hopefully something will bite. Thank you all once again for the wonderful support! Your friend Ron

Hi Maurice
Confidence in that department has never been one of my strong points. I can't lose anything so why not I'll give it a shot. As soon as I can muster up a few dollars I'll give it a try in a couple of the local papers. Thanks for the encouragement! Ron

Hi Ron,
I just got to reading this. Keep your chin up. If I can offer one crumb of solace it's this: Twelve years ago I was unemployed, facing reposession of my home and wondering where my next meal would come from. In the dark times I got really scared about money, food and shelter. By relentlessly persevering through rejection after rejection I ultimately found work again. Sometimes life sucks, but thankfully it's not always. One thing I know is that you are a hard working man, and that you will surely be successful in finding gainful employment. I wish you the best of British luck in that endeavour. TTFN Marcus P.S. What don't kill us, makes us stronger! |

Dear Ron,
I was away last days and have noticed only now this thread and the bad new. I'm very sad, like any other guy here, I see, and this for more than one reason. I was not here for a long time, but in this period I was convinced this is much more a friends group than any other newsgroup I have seen on the web. I want to say, after a short time, I have the feeling I personally know most of the people here. Behind every nickname there is a real person, this we all know but here you feel this is true in a stronger way. I'm thinking to some threads (the one with our faces, the other with our desktops...) and, especially, I don't know if you feel the same, the Leif's P39 thread. I don't know if you noticed, in the background of the photos, the windows of his living room: in one there is the sun lighting the houses out there, in the next light is vanishing, in the other is dark and the lamps in the house are lighted. This gave me a strong sensation of being there, with Leif, and having passed togheter a day building his P39 (what about a cup of tea Leif? ).This is the feeling of being part of a group of real friends, and now we hardly face with a new proof that we are just this: people with their lifes, their occupations and, unfortunately, their problems. I sing in a choir. We all are friends in everyday life and, twice a week, we meet to put togheter our next performance. Our director is one of us, a friend, and something more than this. He is that thing that makes of a group of friends something greater than this. He is the choir, or we are a choir thanks to him, I don't know. It's not easy to explain myself in a language that's not mine but I hope you understand me. If we today loose our director we still be a choir and we will continue singing the same way but we will feel we have lost something important and be very sad for this. This is what I'm feeling now. I wish you the best for all the things in the life out there, and hope to see you often in the group. Please keep us tuned on your events. (If I find something I'll let you know. Should you be ready to jump the ocean? )And, to Rick, the warmest welcome in the new role and the best wishes for a good work there. See you soon my friend. Tonino |
