Default Putt putt boat

While browsing I found this site: http://www.sciencetoymaker.org/boat/index.htm

It has detailed instructions for making a candle-powered (!) boat.
All you need is milk carton(waterproof paper !!) for the boat tin can for the boiler, straws , silicone, staples (ok maybe I forgot something )

...mine is ready..the boiler makes a funny noise..and it is fast! ..

..I think I am going to paint it..

Cool! I bought a few tin Putt Putts for my nephews a couple of years ago. They move fairly well and they scare the heck out of the geese!

Way cool! Thanks for the links.
In making boats I've been getting joking questions about if the engines are going to really work. This is how to do it.
My mind is buzzing with possibilities.

I was able to pick up a few of these boats on ebay, (search for putt-putt boat) for around $4-$10, including a real nice one that looks like the titanic.

I'm looking for a way to remotely steer it , in order to be able to run it in a pond.

I will post some pictures as soon as I take it for an outdoor test run...
