The best viewer for Postscript (.ps) is Ghostscript/Ghostview (you need both) if you don't have Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator. You can use Ghostview to convert .ps to .pdf or extract bitmaps (lots of formats). Both of these open source tools have been around for ages and are very stable.

Charlie

Just to be clear, you only *need* ghostscript. It is the piece that does all of the conversion, formatting, etc.

Ghostview just gives you a convenvient GUI interface to ghostscript.

Correct, but with the common view that "software has a GUI" I wasn't going to recommend learning the command line instructions to drive Ghostscript.

Just to be clear, I definitely *need* both.
