Thumbs up Paper Model Store

I'd like to share with everyone my delightful experience with this online store www.papermodelstore.com/.
I made a purchase of two Halinski and one Fly Model aircraft on Sunday, shipping cost was standard USPS from Chicago to San Francisco. I received an email confirmation of the purchase (thru PayPal) and shipping instantly.
Wednesday afternoon I have the models in my hands to include a bonus kit!
Kris, Thank you so much for your fine service and generosity. I shouldn't
have expected anything less based on my past eBay experience with you.

Default Couldn't Agree More

Paper Model Store is my favorite supplier of kits. I try to order several at once, so don't order as often as I would like, But hopefully everyone here that can will help support this great guy!

I have tried 7or 8 times to place a small order with Paper Model Store. (I tried on two different computers). When I try to process the order, the shopping cart empties and the screen just locks up. It is really getting discouraging. If I remember, this problem occured the last time I tried to place an order from Paper Model Store. This does not occur when I order from other sites. Can someone make any suggestions?

Thanks,

Artie Bob

I had a similar problem with both LighthouseModelArt and PaperModelStore (which seem to have the same web site software) when using the AOL browser...the problems went away when I used FireFox. There seems to be a basic incompatibility with their websites and many of the most common browsers in use. Seems a bit stupid to me having a store that works with only a few browsers, but it's their store. As with the others, my experience (when I was able to make things work) was the shipping was swift, the prices fair, and postage/handling cost very reasonable. And the bonus with each purchase was a very appreciated touch.

As a plug to those of you who haven't gotten one, get a copy of the Iskra-11 while PaperModelStore has it on sale. The kit is awesome in its detail....reminded me a lot of the Good Doctor Z's F-15 kit. The Iskra has a very complete electronics bay in the front end that has me wondering how to properly display....if ever a kit called for being build as a cut-away, this one certainly does, and has lots of very clear construction diagrams.

Internet Explorer has the 85% of the market. Firefox 11% of the market. Really the other browsers are a minority.

About AOL: AOL is only popular in US and it's a nighmare have a site to work with that browser.
AOL don't respect any standard. They have a lot of particular tags. For an small bussiness the effort to work with the minority browser is big and maybe the return small.

Just, my 2 cents.

Point I'm trying to make is paper models is, worldwide, a niche market. When operating on the margin, it is not a smart business move to alienate any of the potential customer base. Of the two Canadian distributors I'm aware of, one had a web site that seems to work with all customer's web browsers/ISPs, the other didn't. Which of them is still in business? I rest my case.

I want to continue to give Raves to Kryz' site and his service. I placed an order from work on Thursday afternoon, got a confirmation on Friday and have the models in my hands today, Monday!!! This is my third order from him and each time he has pretty much had the same schedule. It really takes the "fun" out of waiting for kits that you are eager to build.

Good site, good prices, great service, and a good man. We need to support people like him. Particularly in reference to the departure of our beloved Lighthouse site.

I also have troubles with the browser, but there I found a workaround for me, at least. Usually I log into a site and start shopping but when I do, the site locks up. This time, I filled up my shopping cart without logging in. Then I went to checkout and logged in as part of the checkout process and voila! I have models in my greasy paws four days later, and two of those days were weekend.

Another time when I had problems, I just emailed Krys and he told me the postage and how to send Paypal money to him without going throught the site.

Keep up the outstanding work!

Carl
