Smile Bouwplaten-meeting 2006 - Madurodam

L.S.,

Yesterday the main event in cardmodelling in the Netherlands was held in the smallest city of our country. I was there and made some pictures.

It's the Mirage 2000 D by Fly Model.
But in fact the model is a Mirage 2000 Nk2 of the '4° Escadre de Chasse' based at Luxeuil (France). This plane are the french vector of a nuclear response.

The difference is that the "N" is a nuke version and the "D" is the latest attack version with superior avionics but non nuke. The main (visual) differences between the two planes are : black nose with pitot for the N, camouflaged nose without pitot for the D. Extra compartment on the dorsal chin for the D.

The model depict a desert camo weared by the Mirage when they go to Red Flag.

It was frequent that the model makers did sell there products naming them 2000 D with the appearance of a 2000 N because the D was kept secret during trials and the only datas available was from the N version already in use.

The first picture is from a NK2 taking off. The desert camo are temporary paints, so they alter rapidly with the flight.
The second is from a 2000 D
