Default What’s wrong with this model?

I have been building GPM’s Brummbär and have found a few errors. These errors are on the rear of the model (there is more then one) I didn’t discover them until I had finished the assembly so only one of them will be corrected.

One POTB to those who can tell us what these errors are.

The drive wheel axles are pointing inboard instead of outboard.

I'm with barry........... no hole for the pipe, or pipe is not located correctly to line up with cover hole.

I'm not an armor guy either. I'm not really sure what I'm looking at in this picture. But it does look as though the horizontal pipes have filler caps on their ends. If this is what they are, you're gonna have one hell of a time trying to pour anything into them in that position.

I think it's the main engine muffler - the two horizontal tubes are the exhaust pipes from each bank of the V-engine so they should go through the rear hull
with the vertical pipe pointing backwards at about 20deg from the vertical.

I'm not sure about the idler wheel stub axles - I thought they were positioned further outwards so the edge of the stub axle assembly was against the side plates of the hull.

I thought the auxiliary engine muffler was a cylindrical one held on with a couple of straps

Regards,

Charlie

That little muffler is for a turret motor exhaust, no turret on the Brumbars!

Yup, exhaust pipe is on the wrong side- should match the circular hole on the lid.

And I think the main exhaust is backwards and should have those 2 horizontal pipes exiting from the engine compartment. Back in the day that i had vision I used to build 1/76 scale afvs, any medium, plastic, resin, metal and card. Here's a pic of my converted Airfix panzer IV hull with Italieris early Brummbar upper, with homemade Zimmerit. Which was burned into the plastic with a hot knife.

Actually I think I had it wrong at the time also. Those 2 small horizontal exhaust on the main muffler are supposed to be there, the vertical one is not. I rummaged a pic on dogpile from a european tank museum which shows this. Darn i have to retro fit those puppies on the old airfix beast from the last pic. Where's those magnifiers???
