Outstanding models!

Did I read you right in saying you have a '62 Corvair? I have a '62 Monza. Very cool car!

Default Wow!

Hey Padre,

I was just browsing around the forums and found this thread.

Absolutely wonderful work. Thanks for sharing it. I love the variety of subjects you've built. I (like most probably) tend to stick to my favourite areas and forget what a wonderful array of subjects there are available out there.

I also will be trying that canopy technique.

Thanks for the inspiration.

Steve

Thanks for the link.
How did you make the conning tower railings? Was that part of the kit?

The suggestion is to make out of copper wire, I used the templates on the model, glued to thick card, used a sharp blade, and sloooowwwly cut them out, painted them and glued them on. See page 7 of build for better pics. U-Boat Type VIIc by Kooklik/Thai Paperworks - Page 7 - PaperModelers.com

Nice touch. I was wondering if it was styrine (sp?) strips.

So, if you served on a Navy ship, why is your avatar USAF senior enlisted NCO stripes? Fair question, no?

Finished serving in AZANG (Arizona Air National Guard). While I remember the Navy service best I served longer in the National Guard.

That's a nice tribute website you have there! I was a nav on KC-135's, a "SAC-trained killer," as we used to jokingly say.
