This helps to keep a lot of SPAM off the boards.

Alright, that makes sense.

I just thought that the forum was being mean to me. I've had similar things happen when I took too long to type out a post.

The system now knows you as a regular member and not a Spammer,
so you should have smooth sailing from here on out!
