Default Spurl - Furl - Redit and Delicios Technorati?

I just noticed these 5 little brightly coloured icons at the bottom of each posting window and have no idea as to functon.

Can someone who is a bit more digital than me - the former Digital Kid - tell me what these little icons link to?

Are they an on line version of the tools on my Browser? Not t all sure I need them and of course I am suspicious! But curious!

They are ways to automatically add these posts to online favorites managers.

In IE they are favorites, in firefox bookmarks etc etc. It stores them into an online account for you so you can access your favorites from any place online. I used to use delicious myself.

Thanks Chris,

Since I have had laptops since the 1990s I have always had my own favourites to hand, even when travelling, so i never had the need to use these little guys.

What scares me is that I did not notice them before nor questioned them. Selective blindness!

Am I getting old or what!

Those services go a step beyond what you have in your own favorites or bookmarks. What they do is allow you to share your favorites, so other people can see what you've considered important and you can see what others like. It's a great way to discover new websites.
