Default Numbers Matching 65 Ford Galaxy.

Last week I won this car off of an e-bay motors auction for $100.00. The engine and transmission are separate, but come in at $400.00 I've talked to the owner and will be getting both, but I also have to pay for transportation From PA to MO. The transportation will probably cost about $500.00. Still, I think I've made a pretty good investment. The key thing is that all of the numbers on the engine, transmission and frame all match. To anyone who knows, this means the value is a great deal higher than what I paid for it, even in its current condition.

I already have two of these. I bought a 4 door and a 2 door for $300.00 back in 92-93. So, I have three of these for under $1400.00. The four door is nothing more than a donor car, but the frame is perfect and it gave up a lot of spare parts that are hard enough to find as it is.

I figure that between the three I can come up with two build able cars. One will be a numbers matching resto, the other two door can be kept, or sold as a custom and the four door can be scrapped for parts. With what the salvage price is on steel these days, I can probably make a couple of hundred dollars on all of the steel I scrap out.

I'm wonder if anyone here likes to restore cars and if anyone here does any long haul driving?

This is like stumbling over a gold mine to me. Even with the gas prices what they are, this can still be a daily driver. In fact, the guy I bought this one from says that he was driving it until las summer. I'm really looking forward to getting it here and looking it over up close.

These cars were favorites at NASCAR back in the day, so you don't see a lot of them floating around.

Thanks, I'm still shocked that I got it for the price I did. I was searching for a model of a 65 Ford Galaxy and ran across this e-bay auction. I couldn't believe there were no bids. I wrote the seller several times and finally got to call him. When I found out it was a numbers matching car I was shocked that there weren't more bids. I only bid $75 dollars and was shocked the next day when I won it for $100.00 I don't even no how it jumped up to $100.00? Even if it's not totally perfect, for restoration, the parts alone are worth more than what I have invested.
