Default Another 1:60th Crawler Build

Hey Guys,

I received the 1/96th Crawler from DM Productions, that's the one found on eBay.

I'm looking forward to this build, the kit looks awesome and a perfect match for the LUT.

When I build it I'm going to make it raise and lower like the real one. I'll figure something out and of course share it with your guy when I do.

Hope to get started soon which will give me that kick in the butt I need and get back to work on the LUT. I'll eventually put the other crawler under Alfonso's stack....in 1:60th of course.

George

Will you be cleaning the kit up, it seems a bot over weathered than would be expected for such a new item?

I cannot wait me too to see your ability applied to the building this crawler.

I received last week the same model and I found the details very well designed and weathered. But after the first impression I found that I prefer how Alfonso reproduced the support cylinders. In this model they are reproduced as drawing on a flat surface of a square pillar, and at this scale I would have preferred true cylinders. What do you think?

Best, Nando

PS: I apologize for my english ...

No need to apologize.

I hadn't really looked over the kit that well so did not notice that. Yes, I'll probably change them to true cylinders but maybe use the same graphics as the square version.

I do like the detail of the main chassis and tracks however.

Very funny George, By the way, they are not models but toys if you play with them

Best of luck with the build

I was going to make a joke about the noise coming from GeorgeB's house from the traction & diesel engines as he slowly moves the crawler out from under the launch platform, but got side tracked when I read on wikipedia that the two crawlers were delivered in 1965.

These crawlers are as old as me.....

Default Start

Woohoo, I've officially started CT#2 as I call it.

Four 8.5" x 11" sheets comprise the main body which measures a bit over 26". I don't know how you guys can work on anything smaller.

Sorry about the blurry photo....to lazy to re-shoot it.

Would that be 'Hans' or 'Franz'? I guess since you said CT#2 it would be Franz.

Hi Guys,

I'm back at it....the other crawler that it. I've completed the sub structure which is made completely out of foam core, also finished up the fuel tanks, radiators and motors. This is going to be a cool build with room for extra details.
