Talking AXM International Space Station

fresh from sir Alfonso's site!!! (I just had to post them here!)

My eyes nearly popped out after seeing these!!! They look WAAAYY better (and more realistic) than I thought!!!

These are just draft models, as indicated at his site, so the final versions may look better than these...

stay TUNED

Oh, good! I was hoping to see this soon. I need an ISS model and I have neither the dexterity nor the time for the Fortezza model. (Stupid stubby fingers. Maybe someday...)

Maybe not the place for it but does anyone know if the ISS has the ability to use its "Arm" to transfer an outside experiment package from say the Columbus to the Airlock for retrieval by personel inside?

Or does someone have to take a walk out there?

Hi Paul,

Please read this article from the Canadian Space Agency. It's about the next mission that will carry the DEXTRE mechanism.

CSA - Dextre (Special Purpose Dexterous Manipulator)

I think this robotic arm will do that and more.

I agree, I don't think the SSRMS alone can do that, either somebody dons a suit and go outside, or use Dextre, or a combination of both

Hmmm... that reminds me, is Robonaut going up there? From what I understand about it, it is intended for ISS operations in tandem with astronauts, or can be used alone for emergency EVAs...
