Paper IZ Perfect -BUT- Wood IZ Good

Sooo... I know a few of you that are 'woodies' as well as card modellers, and I suspect there are quite a few other members that like to roll in the sawdust from time to time, or have a passing interest in woodwork at any rate. A bunch of files surfaced on my old HDD that I thought may ( or may not) be of interest to some of you. I've posted what's left of an old website I had up when hobby time was plentiful. Pretty much since the cradle I've been eating, playing then working with wood, and I try not to miss any opportunity to combine hobbies/loves.. In this case, primarily woodwork and aviation.

Our US members would probably be more familiar with Solid Modelling.. If your unfamiliar with the term, just think of those black aircraft recognition models in it the old war movies. There was a plethora of US companies making 'Wooden Kit' models in the WWII + post era.. Unfortunately ( or fortunately for my wallet) I was unaware of their existence and had never seen one until recently. Like Card modelling, it took a reasonable amount of skill to build a nice wooden model, and also like card modelling, I've seen absolutely amazing results.

I sort of fell into the hobby by the back door so to speak ( no contact with any knowledgeable craftsmen = self taught) So my version of the hobby is a little less traditional as I work predominantly in larger, well 'smaller' actually, scales 1/16th (+ -) and I'm not that hyper tensive over precise measurements. Not to mention I finish a majority of the models in natural timber, polyurethane etc. as opposed to painting them. I view it more of an art form than a engineering exercise, so there's plenty of poetic licence flashed about. It was a really satisfying hobby, that I'd dearly like to return to one day when the time permits.

There are plenty of dedicated woodworking forums, so I'm not really looking to start up a woodies warren on these boards, just some pix to look at...and we all love pix! ( sorry a few are poor quality )
