I have had these strange thoughts running through my head (I know with the right kinds of drugs this could be stopped). On my HO layout could I use N track for the log carriage in my mill?
Also could I use more of it in the mines to hull out the ore to be dumped into my HO hoppers. I could do some kit bashing to make the mine ore cars and a small tractor out of maybe a N scale 0-4-0? Is this crazy, scale to far off, should I start looking for those drugs? ![]() Kent

This is HOn30 (or HOn2-1/2 or HOe), a common way of modelling narrow gauge.

Ya if you search the net, or pick up "Narrow Gauge and Shortline Gazette" you'll see a fair amount of HOn30 stuff. Often it's used to represent the 2' gauge lines in Maine, but would have industrial uses too.

You're modeling HO standard gauge I assume, so you would likely want something like two-foot gauge for your mill or mine. N-scale rail comes out a little large for that by scale, being freequently used by HON3 modelers to model three foot gauge. Of course, the ultimate test is - does it look OK? If it does, or if it simply "works for you", go for it!

is used in the mine, so Z would be too big. Nn3, could be used from the mine to the standard gauge interchange/transshipment point.
