More than likely a pump to send the water from the condenser back to the tender.
it will be on the pdf's of the loco construction

Hi there

I continue with other euipments those I found in the UP's drawings. Added main steam pipe for back engine and its exhaust pipe. Above the pipe, there's a bottle shape tank like a high pressure tank. Does anyone know what it for?

Kooklik, Hello ! Stunning design work...can barely imagine what building this loco from card will entail, but you seem to have it well in hand. The tank you asked about is an air reservoir for the engine and train brakes and other appliances (bell, whistle, traction sand, etc.). I believe the equipment you asked about behind the shield on the pilot is the air compressor(s) and after-cooling radiator of the later arrangement.Thanks for sharing your expertise with us (Guage-types), too! Thank you Bob and Tony for the clear answer of the air tank and radiator. I found the radiator's drawing and will add it later. Now I'm designing the reverse cylinder. It's rather complicated and small one.

Not updated here for a moment. But the designing work is continueing. The reverse cylinder and ash pan were completed since last week. Now the cab interior work is beginning.

Not update over a week. But I'm still working on Bigboy. Just finished the tender's milliped wheels. Those wheels are same size as Engine's truck's wheels.

To keep small details be buildable , I decided to rescale from 1/48 to 1/30. Length 0.87m to 1.30m. Now 3D model is 90%. I'll rescale and unroll soon.

I hadn't checked in on this thread for a while, wow! It's looking really really good. And now it's 1/30th!! I still want to rescale to 1/25th to go with my Polish locomotives...

Thanks for all your kind words and comments. Yesterday I finished the milliped wheels brake and suspension. Some of unseenable details (brake rods and cylinders) are not included. They are so small and too complecated to build. I want to know how they maintained those complecated brake system.
