So, Obama was here in San Marcos last night for a rally. Estimates are that 12,000 to 15,000 people turned out. It was packed.
San Marcos has a population of about 35,000 plus 28,000 students at Texas State University.
After the rally, a reporter from Austin asked a coed from the university if she would be voting for Obama in the primary next Tuesday and if she would stay for the caucus after the polls closed to help select delegates for the convention.
She said, "Oh, yes. Unless American Idol is on."

Yeah. That's scary. On the plus side, a guy was heard talking to his girl friend as they stood in line to get in (at it's longest, it was taking 1 1/2 to 2 hours to get into the park). He told her, "Geez, babe. Let's go. This isn't 'Star Wars.'"
She told him, "This is better than 'Star Wars." They stayed.
So far, early voting in the county is double what it was in the previous 2 presidental election year primaries combined.
In the last 10 days, we've had Obama, Sen. Kennedy and Chelsea Clinton in town to speak.
There hasn't been this much excitement about a presidential election, or this much attention from candidates here since LBJ ran (and he went to college here).
