I wanted to get the whole thing together before now, but it hasn't happened. However, I am working on a new TOS Enterprise interior.
I used Ron Caudillo's Enterprise model, once again, as a template for the outside and have a friend working on the inside. When it's done, it will be available for this, or the next free model contest and will include directions and a summary that says you can add anything you want to it, windows, lights, wires....etc...etc.. etc... Prelim, shot one exterior. ![]() |

Besides the exterior, I'm wanting to make the hull thick enough where you can make a cut away. I want there to be a bcak wall and I want there to be some side room betweent the outer hull and the inner bay wall. There has to be room for the turbo lift to get through. I'm not taking any direction from any fans on this. I'm only looking at Matt Jeffries drawings and comments.
Here are some shots of what I'm looking to finish. ![]() This was done, by request by Ron Caudillo. ![]() Pics from an old game mod. ![]() ![]() What I started with to get the first draft build from. ![]() |

Wow! This is gonna be GREAT Joe! I'm flattered that you are able to use my Enterprise as a start (of course, we had this discussion in an e-mail a while ago and you asked for my permission to do this (which I readily agreed!).
It will be good to see another interior set designed and completed! Best Regards, |

Thanks Ron, but I'm starting with your model and I really can't take any credit. You've already done the hard work and I have a friend working on the interior. You and Skip are the ones that inspried me to do this.
I've been working on it every spare minute the last couple of days. In case anyone is interested, yes, I'm working on the other projects too. |

Despite computer crashes and working myself into the ground. I'm still making progress on this and other projects. I'm going to do a "Paper to Plastic" thread on this, just as soon as I get everything where I want.
On the left is the first scale mock-up... http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f6.../shuttle22.jpg on the right, is want I want it to be.... ![]() Not bad for paper huh? And to think, some of these styrene guys think they cornered the market on getting things done. Us paper modelers know better, don't we? http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f6.../shuttle23.jpg Ron Caudillo's print that he made up for lil ole me. Thanks Ron! http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f6.../shuttle24.jpg http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f6.../shuttle25.jpg 3D CG version made up by my friend.... Yep, you guessed it, Skip! Whoot! http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f6...huttl-bay1.jpg http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f6...huttl-bay2.jpg ![]() http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f6...huttl-bay6.jpg More to come, or should I start a thread in the designers corner? Since I didn't actually design it and since I'm building it off of what's already been done, I thought this was the best place. |

Hey Joe, Looking at that pic of the mesh I started I decided to rework the roof. It's great as a simple model but it could do with some rounding off.
If this is intended to fit into Rons model then I'll probably not model in windows and the door recesses. I'll texture them in, unless you want them modelled??

Those are both collectable... I think one is a shuttle that comes with a set of other craft... and the other... I don't know. I'll have to look. I'm probably going to have to use the bigger one to make a TOS shuttle paper model. Doh!
Regards the shuttle bay, I got the file from Skip and unfolded it, or Skip unfolded it in Pep, but I think I'm going to try and handcraft one using shots of the bay from the series and from reference material. More to come, when I get time. I'm doing all outside stuff now and working on finishing those Frakkin fonts. ![]() |
