Default N Scale Supply

Hello all

Considering all the talk recently about various on line ordering I figured I'd ask before I put in an order.

Has anyone ordered through N Scale Supply and can you tell me if they were decent to deal with.

Please keep in Mind I'm located in the great white (Still have 8" of snow here) North and the order will be coming from the States.

Thanks

I have ordered from NScalesupply and have no real complaints. The only thing I wonder about is where they get their supply from. I've had items ordered only to find out that they wouldn't be in stock for a very long time. So watch what you order, and if you need it right away, I'd suggest emailing them about the item first then go ahead and order it. But overall, I had no problems with this retailer.

Thanks for the reply.

I found out today that the LHS in town can have pretty much anything I want (for a small markup of course) within 7 days from any of the main suppliers and since they are getting to know me better than the wife would like, they will order for me and I pay when I pick it up.

No shipping , no hassles, no worries.

Well there you go...that's the best way IMHO. My LHS does the same for me, orders what I want and it's usually the same price as the internet retailers but without the shipping costs. Plus, I try to help my LHS with purchases when I can so they'll still be in business when I need them.

Same here, and the LHS, anxious to collect from me, does the chivvying and chasing to get the supplier to stay on time and on track. Suppliers are much more reluctant to alienate an LHS than a single buyer.

As far as my not so local hobby shops they will see a lot less of me due to having to pay full MSRP on top of $3.67.9 gas for a 52-53 mile round trip.
and I may have the need to make a return trip if he needs to order anything like a simple bottle of Enchantment Blue or Grimy Black or the newest N Scale car or locomotive.

No the UPS man came bring my models to me.

Or...you could just as your LHS to drop ship the item, a very common practice whereby you pay for the item, they order it, but have it delivered directly to your door. Probably 90% of that process could just be done over the phone, as long as you know what you want.

I've ordered recently from N Scale Supply. They were quick and accurate with a message about an item they'd have to order first. I wound up changing my order around too, and they handled it well. I have no complaints, and plan on ordering from them again.
